Use Create > Empty Matrix to create a new empty matrix.
Use the Create menu or the corresponding tab of the Quick Access Bar to generate matrices filled with voxels that resemble standard primitives like spheres, pyramids or circles. For further information, see this article.
The Terrain Generator creates a terrain based on a randomly generated heightmap. To create a terrain select Create > Terrain from the main menu.
Terrain Generator Options
Sets the name of the new terrain.
Sets the width and depth of the terrain. Changing this value will randomize the map.
Sets the height of the terrain. The maximum height is 256.
Using high Roughness values will result in more spikes. Changing this value will randomize the map
Smoothness and Smooth Iterations
Smoothness is applied for n iterations making the terrain less jagged and more curved.
Gradient and Gradient Shades
A gradient can be used for coloring the terrain to mimic certain terrain types like mountains. Gradient shades determines how many shades of the gradient will be used to color the object. Using a high value will result in a smooth transition from bottom to top.
Surface and Underground
You can set different colorize methods for the surface and underground. The underground can be left out by selecting None, leaving only the surface.
By enabling Shadows the terrain generator calculates shadows based on the sun position and intensity. The algorithm uses directional light shining from the sun position to the world origin.
Tip: Changing dimension or roughness will result in a new random heightmap. All other values can be changed without starting the randomizer. To force randomization click on the Randomize button. Otherwise always use Preview.
